How to Hang a Flat-Screen TV

Step 1: Unpack the TV
Unpack the television, including all cables, brackets, remotes and literature. Keeping the television wrapped in protective wrapper, place it face down a hard surface covered with a blanket.
Step 2: Attach the Brackets
Attach the included brackets to the back of the television using the supplied hardware. Make sure to select the right screws for the size holes on the TV.
Step 3: Mark the TV Location
Keeping in mind that televisions are best viewed at or slightly above eye level, pick a location on the wall to hang it. If hiding the cables, pick a location where the wires can easily be run from the source to the television. Using a cardboard cutout the size and shape of the TV, outline the location of the television on the wall with a pencil.
Step 4: Attach the Wall Mount
Using a stud finder, determine the location of two studs within the television outline. Mark the outside edges of each stud and then the center. Use a level to make sure the wall mount is aligned evenly on the wall then drill the pilot holes. Attach the mount to the wall using the included hardware.
Step 5: Complete the Project
If running the cables behind the wall, do so before hanging the television. Either way, connect all the cables and the power cords at the back of the flat screen. Hang the flat screen on the wall mount by fitting the brackets in place.
