Step 1: Prep the Room

Prep room by taping windows, doors and moldings with painter's tape. Place drop cloth on the floor.

Step 2: Mix and Apply the Plaster

Mix three different troughs of joint compound with three kinds of latex paint. Be careful not to overmix, leaving some of the white joint compound showing.

Add plaster to center of a plaster blade and apply base color compound in a small area.

Step 3: Apply Two More Colors

Apply other two colors in smaller amounts as highlights to add depth. Be careful not to overblend.

So far, so good!
